These terms govern your use of the backyard.energy energy-management service. By creating an account you agree to them.
The service
backyard.energy is an energy-management and analytics tool. It computes energy and cash flows from the meter data and parameters you enter for your nodes. Figures are analytical estimates to help you understand your energy costs — they are not an official invoice and do not replace your energy supplier's or grid operator's billing.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the accuracy of the data you enter. You must be entitled to use any metering data you import. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.
Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to access other users' data or accounts.
- Do not disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service.
- Do not upload data you have no right to process.
Your data
You retain ownership of the data you enter. How we handle your personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. You can export or delete your data at any time from your profile.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that analytical figures, forecasts or recommendations are error-free or suitable for any particular decision.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make on the basis of the analytics the service provides.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Estonian law. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence are unaffected.
Changes
We may update these terms and will post the revised version here with an updated date. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
